What makes you happy?
This past year and a half has for lots people around the world taught us to really appreciate the simple pleasures that make us happy.
It's true that many of us have in the process of slowing down been able to think more consciously about the way we live our lives. From the self care we practice, the way we approach work, how we shop and live in our homes.
Here's some things to think about for more ways to cultivate joy and happiness in your life by enjoying simple pleasures:
Engage in something new and exciting that interests you. It's likely to be good for your mind and your body!
Relationships make time for meaningful connections with new and old friends (not just romantic)!
Meaning and Purpose is there a way for you to get involved in a projects or scheme which you feel matters?
Accomplish something new, a sense of achievement will boost your mood.
Create yourself a joy ritual - whether its listening to music, watching your favourite program, reading a good book or cooking a delicious meal. Take some time for yourself whilst adding meaning to your day.
Be Kind its a superpower and in doing something for another being, you will spread a ripple of loving energy into the world around you. Know that simple random acts of kindness may even deliver a bigger wellbeing lift than an organised effort!
Become more Conscious of what you buy and when. Do you really need that new item? Can you support a local charity by buying secondhand? Can you support a local business? Does the item support Circular Economy? Is it environmentally friendly? Can you support organisations which give back to their local and global communities? You can make a big difference, just by the way you shop!
