Maz was included in an article by Hannah Bailey published by the Guardian Newspaper in 2020.

The article was titled To Balance is Trust: Photographing women and non-binary skateboarders from different countries. 

Quoted from the article 

“ Marie Mayassi, originally from the Democratic Republic of the Congo,, is the co-founder of Melanin Skate Gals and Pals. She lives in London and is building a black-led,BIPOC, queer skate community. She works to bring more people of color into skateboarding through events and awareness-raising activities.” 

BIPOC means Black & Indigenous People of Color.
